And the "Sweet Sound" of the
Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer

Gentian saw a mountain dulcimer for the first time at age 8 during a children's dulcimer program led by Wanda Degen at the 2003 Hiawatha Music Festival, Gentian asked for a dulcimer for her 9th birthday. She got it, and started lessons with Corinne Rockow.

After only one year, Gentian was performing for relatives and friends. In 2005 she started playing for the public at "open mike" events.
